Coworking vs Cafes!

March 27, 2019

One of the major reasons behind the spawn of coworking spaces was the need felt by entrepreneurs and freelancers to enjoy a sense of camaraderie and the need to work from an environment where they can enjoy privacy while being surrounded by people with somewhat similar interests.

Keeping this in mind, a coffee shop might seem to be an equally effective option for the person. After all, most coffee shops provide comfortable seating, Wi-Fi access, good coffee, background music and hosts to ensure that guests have everything they need.

Unfortunately, not every coffee shop is geared towards productivity. Some cafes have the wrong ambience; they may be populated with loud patrons or a very distracting environment. Other coffee shops use blatant or more covert methods to try to steer away such unwanted customers.

Listed below are a few reasons to choose coworking over cafes:

  1. Distractions:
There are multiple distractions in a coffee shop which shall make it difficult to focus on the task at hand. Things like loud conversations, continuous flow of people and the presence of pets make it an unsuitable working environment.

  2. Safety and Security:
One can never feel comfortable leaving their belongings on the table if they want to go out for a short stroll or just a washroom break. This problem never arises in a coworking space where no one shall encroach upon your workstation.

  3. Costs:
The regular cups of coffee coupled with an occasional sweet treat shall prove to be much more expensive than a seat at a coworking space.

  4. Networking:
Each coworker could provide input, physically help or give sound advice to each other’s respective organisations. This is something which a coffee shop shall never provide.

  5. Extra facilities:
Coworking spaces often offer printers, lockers, projectors and much more. These facilitate the day to day activities of a professional.

Taking into consideration all the points of reasoning, we can conclude that a coworking space proves to be a better choice as it offers many facilities which a coffee shop does not.

The facilities provided by CoKarya could very well prove to be an example of how it is differentiated from a café. CoKarya provides fully equipped meeting rooms, high-speed internet, dedicated cabins and printing facilities – all of which go a long way in improving the efficiency of a business and prove useful in building an image whenever someone comes over to meet you.
